* Do I think you are beautiful in sweats?

I think you are more beautiful everyday I see you,
No matter what you wear.

*Why?

Because I have known you for so long.  I am not
In love with your new dress, or your decorated eyes.  I
Like your lazy walk when you’re tired, your sleepy
Eyes and struggling smile when you’re just waking.
I love the way you fit in my arms, the way you light
Up in a baseball cap, the way I dream of you and you
Don’t know it.  I love to see you change the way you
Want to change.  You have grown up without my help,
And these are things you never knew.

*Would I be proud of being yours?

I am not yours, but someone else is.  I am proud of
You now.  You change my reality when you walk into
The room, when you send me a letter, when you walk
Into my mind and dreams.  You have a hold of your life.
I know this is not an easy thing.  But most of all, I am
Proud of you because you don’t need anything to change
The world.
I need you to do the things you do.  Where you are
Courageous, I am a coward.  I need you to tell you.
My fear is my death, and because of this, I fear you
Will never know how much you mean to me, or how
Beautiful I think you are.
